Hello All,

It's getting close to that time of year again. I have justlooked at the entry form and had a few comments and questions.

1) it sounds like the club (or Wet and Windy) have the weekend well planned out with lots of food and camping in the club house, so lots of beer as well then.

2) Because of the food arangements i think they are asking for people to enter before the weekend. Is this compusery?

3) There is mention of a race fee for members £35 (per boat) and £40 for non members. I am sure that this is not right as you have to be a member to race in the opens.

On that note thanks to all those who have paid, and whatch out all that haven't. Once again Barry and I have been training all winter and now look a bit like younger versions of Arny. You can always pay on the weekend but don't leave it until we are trying to rig please.

Thanks for reading my rant, Lets hope for a big turn out at Chew.

2, There is no requirement to pre register, as far as I know. That said it will be much easier if they have an idea of who is going to go. ISO 1207 will certainly be there.

3, As it is Wet & Windy organising the event, the new Buzz and ISO Licencee, they are keen to get as many boats there as possible. There will be lots going on in addition to the racing which will benefit those not used to racing. By request of W&W it is not a pre-requisite that entrants are members of the class associations. The additional £5 will go to the class association though.

The entry form has been slightly tweaked. The above posted details are still valid. Pre entry is not compulsary, but if you want a 3 course meal you had better pre enter to ensure food on your plate.

Same file in Adobe pdf, and MS Word. The later will allow you to type out your details, then print & fax / email back to the shop. 3 methods of pre payment:
- Post to the shop along with a cheque,
- Fax / email to the shop then follow up with a phone call with plastic card details,
- Drop it into the shop in person - could be expensive option though as Andy will get you to buy something from t'shop before you leave (just like Aunty Wainwright from Last of t'Summer Wine!)

Having an event at the start of the season that is open to non class members is a good idea. Maybee we should advertise it a bit harder. The boat show would have been ideal, Pete could you put it as one of the pop ups on the home page.

just a question, but is there going to be a photographer at the chew event, like fotoboat or similar, as it would be good publicity for the new boats and the class, etc.

Do not forget that if you wish to bring your boat to the club on the friday or "Camp" in the clubhouse on the friday or saturday you need to contact Andy Holmes through Wet and Windy on 01179669582 or 07733318001 to book it with him as if no one books then there will be no club member to welcome you.

Also if you wish to eat on the saturday at the club you need to pre-enter to ensure there will be food on your plate.

Cheers

Just really want to post a big THANK YOU to Andy and Matt at Wet & Windy for all their fantastic organising and hard work. The meal was a big success encouraging all sailors to socialise together in the evening (just how many people can you get around a table football table??) and I think lots of us appreciated the sponsorship you got from Butcombes for the beer prizes.

Also of course thanks to the club, race officers, rescue boats, voluntary bar staff etc etc - job well done!
