Just a quicky does anyone know the diameter of the tiller locking pin that is put in to stop the tiller lifting and unlocking? We lost ours at the weekend in a strong breeze!

Anything that fits in the existing hole will do. A bit of dowl so it snaps if you run aground is better than the steel pin.

Personally I much prefer to make the rudder stock fit properly and then use a large piece of elastic over the big nut on top ( no - not the one holding the tiller !!! )

That way, when you need to either replace or refit the blade or stock you arn't limited by the pin hole position - which has been the case on many I've reset for people.

Fitted properly so the cam does it's full job it does not pop up even in the heaviset of weather - but is dead easy to release from the helm position if you get into shallow water.
