Last year, we had a Boss stand at Ali Pali. We need to decide QUICKLY whether to do so again. It's a fair amount of effort (For whoever supplies the boat, and to keep the stand manned), and expensive relative to our small budget. (It would use up about half our current balance.) Last year - probably typically - generated some passing interst, but unlikely that anyone joined us directly as a result. However it's a chance to keep ourselves in front of some potential audience.

What do people feel about this?

Peter

If you do go for a stand at the 2006 Dinghy Show, I am happy to help.

Guys, Bob needs a reply on this real quick! My feeling at the moment is that we should go for it, but we need more help to make it feasible!

Mike, Stu - thanks a lot.

Can anyone else volunteer some time that weekend?

Can anyone vonunteer a boat? In principle, we can use 812 again, but I cannot get up to Ali Pali on Friday evening. So either we need another boat (someone closer to London, maybe?) OR perhaps someone (Mike?) could go up with 812 on Friday.... I could be on the stand on Sunday and bring the boat back home.

From the web, there do seem to be some stirrings of interest and some new people snapping up unused boats - but it needs more than the usual 2-3 people to help push the class and get it more active.

OK guys, we are definitely on for this (I'm paying the deposit!) We have more than one viable boat option, so let's think about this more as the time approaches. The urgent decision was the go / no go one! BUT we do still need more people!!
