My 3mm wire jib halyard is getting a bit twisted & furry near the top.I am going to replace it, and am considering using something like 2.5mm Excel rope, instead of wire.
What do you think?

I think the class rules forbid replacement of wire. Good idea to replace if it looks twisted, but I'd stick to wire.
