Hi All
I've just noticed that the mast on 576 has a slight prebend to it - ie only really noticeable when sighting up the track, you can hardly spot it from the side.
a) is this normal ? and b) is this a problem ?
Cheers
Matt

Matt,
It is not normal, however if it is small then it won't make any difference. Once you have the kicker on and other controls the mast will be much more bent anyway.

Thanks Stuart
Pretty much what i figured, the only thing that occurred to me is if the prebend would lead to the shrouds being fixed lower than they would if it was straight - ie being in the higher wind holes to start with. I may try raising them up a hole to see if it makes any difference.
Cheers

Matt,
I presume you have the rig tension and mast rake set to;
- Forestay tension (front of jib) - 23ish on a Superspars tension gauge - Mast rake - 7200mm approx
If you have prebend with no rig tension (slack shrouds) then your mast rake with tension on may be closer to 7100mm.
