Hi, I have noticed the lower rudder plate has come lose (through which the rudder pin locates). I was going to use thread locker, but one of the screws will not tighten into the hull, is there a block on the inside? I would appreciate any hints or recommended way to repair? It appears to have been glued at some point. |

Hi,
You may find that the screw has snapped, which is not good news!! The later Buzzes (with a bouyancy hatch) have nuts and bolts holding these on, which is the permanent fix for your buzz.
When this happened to mine i fitted a bouyancy hatch so that i could get to the rear of the fittings, i then removed the broken screw with a very small pair of mole grips and a lot of patience! I unscrewed it and removed it from inside the hull. Once all of the screws were removed (only 2 had broken) i then drilled the holes to suit the new bolts and fitted the fittings with bolts, nuts and washers.
Some people i know have used various different adhesives, etc. which may give you a fairly good repair, but the only permanent fix is with nuts, bolts and washers . . . in my opinion.
